What This Information Means

An IP lookup shows the egress used after the request leaves your local network, but each field has a different meaning.

Public IP and Location

Your public IP is the main detail websites use to identify where a connection comes from. After connecting through an international route, its registered location should generally match the selected route region. If your original network location still appears, check the client connection status and refresh the page.

ISP Information

The ISP field identifies the organization registered for the address range. It may be a local broadband provider, cloud network, or data center. It helps identify the egress type, but does not indicate the website visited, account status, or connection quality.

Proxy Detection Result

Proxy detection classifies the network type using an address database. A data-center egress may be labeled as a proxy, while a residential network may receive a different result if address data is slow to update. Use this as a troubleshooting aid, not as the sole indication of whether the connection is working.

Local Troubleshooting Steps

DNS Leak Self-Check

DNS converts domain names into network addresses that can be reached. A changed public IP does not automatically mean DNS requests follow the same path. This page does not fabricate DNS test results or forward requests to an external testing website.

  1. Confirm the Client Connection

    Connect to the route first, then return to this page and run the lookup again. The egress region should match the direction of the selected route.

  2. Review System DNS Settings

    Check the current DNS source in your system's network details. If it still uses resolver addresses provided by your original network provider, review the client's DNS takeover or encrypted DNS settings.

  3. Rule Out Browser-Managed DNS

    Some browsers enable their own Secure DNS settings. These may bypass system configuration, so check the DNS options under the browser's privacy and network settings as well.

  4. Verify Again After Switching

    After updating the settings, disconnect and reconnect the route, then check the egress information again. If the issue persists, update the subscription, switch to another route, or open the user panel to submit a ticket.
